In some menus they excluded stuff that was accessible via matrix. There is nothing to add, it did not work for me and compared to a SH-201 budget synth, that was just awful.įifth thing, I did not like the inconsistency of the menu. A little chorus did fine but when you wanted to warm up the sound it lost all the high frequencies.įourth thing, the reverb. I know that some people say it is stable, but if you are quick in programming and jump through the page while playing the synth, it can cause a freeze. The second thing I did not like were the crashes. Somehow that part was frequency limited and heavy in the mids. When I had the Blofeld, I was ticked of the most of the sound quality of the wavetable scanning. I really like using my blofeld desktop as a drum synth. If there are other known issues I am unaware of them and haven't noticed them in my productions. I would not say it is 'plagued' with issues. Its one of my fave synths and I also own (Virus, Ion, Micron, Nord 1 and 2X, AN1X, Fusion) Its build quality is very high, the display is awesome and its programmability is very deep. I wouldn't let these issues stop you from getting a blofeld. This works fine though sometimes I have to turn the Iconnect on and off to get it to recognise the blofeld after long periods of nothing.
I bought an IConnect midi and run my blofeld keys to the Iconnect using USB then midi I/O from the IConnect to my midi patch bay. Use another control surface programmed to the blofelds midi spec. The only way to make this work is either A. I have a keyboard and a desktop unit though and I am completely OTB with no computer. For the desktop unit which doesn't have a midi out this isn't an issue. The encoders to not transmit midi CC via the Midi Out.
This isn't really a bug was a design choice made by Waldorf to save money I guess. I work around this by using my ear of all things. I believe this may have been address in OS 1.16 though I'm not sure. The LFO's do not sync to the time base or tempo. A workaround is to put the signal through a pre-amp which I do a lot of anyway for several synths. I've experienced this and its a minor point of frustration. The output gain level sometimes reduces while in multimode. The issues that I (think) I am aware of areġ.
